Corinne de San Jose × Tunghai University Department of Music Site-Specific Performance

🔥 “#HeatwavePeople” Opening Performance Announcement|Electronic Sound × Percussion: Resonance Between Sensation and Environment .ᐟ.ᐟ
Are you ready? This Friday, sound will guide you into the dimension of “heat.”
“Heatwave People – The Culture of Heat / Summer and Contemporary Art” will officially open on May 15 (Fri). Taichung Art Museum specially invites participating artist Corinne de San Jose to collaborate with students from the Tunghai University Department of Music in a site-specific performance combining electronic sound and percussion within the exhibition space ✨
Artist #Corinne has long explored the relationships between sound, bodily perception, and cultural memory. Her practice spans video, installation, kinetic sculpture, and sound generation, with works exhibited in Manila, New York City, and Berlin, among other cities.
During her residency at Tunghai University, Corinne not only presented a public lecture, but also led four interdisciplinary workshops with the Department of Music. Centered around the concept of “sound as site,” and co-directed with Professor Sun Ming-Chen, students collected sounds from everyday environments and transformed them through sound editing and percussion arrangements into a collaborative work integrating electronic sound, sound generation, and percussion performance.
On opening day, we warmly invite everyone to step into the exhibition space and experience how the sounds of Taichung flow, resonate, and radiate heat throughout the space.
